John J. Richard, Associate
John has joined TAB Consulting in 2008 as an Associate to work with our team
assisting in litigation support related to security matters. John has the
depth and breadth of knowledge needed to simplify the complexities of the
fixed income market for both individual and class action matters in this
area.
For the past ten-plus years, John served as a Senior Fixed Income Portfolio
Manager for his clients at State Street Global Advisors in Boston, MA. His
clients included a well-known list of some of the largest defined
contribution plans in the United States. Within these client portfolios,
John's primary focus was on the preservation of investors' capital. To this
end, the emphasis in these strategies involved intensive and exhaustive
research on the underlying collateral within any given security. John was
an investor for clients in security types ranging from unsecured corporate
credit to securitized structures collateralized by residential and
commercial mortgages, auto loans, and credit card receivables, to name a
few.
John built upon his experiences in Portland, OR at the Laughlin Group of
Companies as a fixed income portfolio manager (a boutique fixed income
manager) and at a mortgage brokerage firm originating primarily residential
mortgages. This experience in the primary mortgage market lent useful
insights into the credit quality of underlying collateral in the securities
market over the past twelve years.
John received his Bachelor of Arts Degree cum laude in Economics from the
College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA where he also spent time abroad
at Oxford University studying Economics and History. John also was
Valedictorian of his class at Babson College in Wellesley, MA where he
earned his Masters of Business Administration with extensive coursework in
real estate development and finance. John is a Chartered Financial Analyst
and a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
